What are dental implants?

Dental implants are titanium posts inserted into an empty tooth socket (or sockets). The implants integrate with your bone after placement, providing a base for crowns, bridges, or implant-supported dentures.

What is guided surgical implant placement?

Guided surgical implant placement involves using digital dental technology to plan implant placement so that there is little to no healing required for a surgical site and the implant placement procedures can be performed in as little as 15 minutes.

Having a crown placed on a dental implant takes longer than other restorations, because a dental implant takes about four months to stabalize in the bone (osseointegrate). With optimal dental hygiene and regular checkups, dental implants often last a lifetime.*

What are the Benefits of Dental Implants?

Dental implants offer various benefits, including:

  • Confidence
  • Convenience
  • Durability
  • Easier biting and chewing

Replacing extracted or damaged teeth with dental implants can improve your dental health. Filling a gap in your smile prevents your remaining healthy teeth from moving out of position and preserves your jawbone.

What Does Getting Dental Implants Involve?

At DenTull, getting a dental implant and crown takes roughly 8 months. An initial visit is required for consultation and to take records to plan the implant placement.

Dental Implant Placement

Dr. Janak administers anesthetic and uses a 3d printed implant guide to create a space to place the implant. The procedure requires no incisions or sutures and has minimal post operative bleeding. The number of implants needed depends on your treatment goals and the type of restoration you want.

Dental Implant Restoration Planning

It takes four months for the implants to integrate with your bone. When that process finishes, you return to DenTull for your crown fabrication and placement.

Dr. Janak takes digital impressions of your mouth and manufactures them in his in office dental lab where he and his team create your implant restorations. Dental implant restorations at DenTull are milled in an onsite milling unit using CEREC technology.

Dental Implant Restoration

After finishing the required lab work to manufacture your crown, which takes about 40 minutes, Dr. Janak connects your restorations to your implants, checks your bite, and provides care instructions.

After implant restoration, you can bite and chew like you would with your natural teeth.

How Do I Care for Dental Implants?

Caring for dental implants is like caring for your teeth. The DenTull team recommends brushing twice daily, using a water flosser and flossing at night. Visiting the office routinely based on your needs for preventive teeth cleaning with an oral exam, ensures the best longevity for your restorations. If you have a history of gum disease, more frequent checkups might be necessary.
